The story of Vergez Blanchard
The Blanchard house was founded by Louis-René Blanchard in 1823, a professional cutler in Paris. After multiple acquisitions and partnerships with other manufacturers, the small cutlery factory diversified its production while remaining close to leather from the second half of the 19th century: saddlers, harness makers, leatherworkers, harness makers, bookbinders, tanners (by hand), bootmakers, shoemakers (by hand), upholsterers and upholsterers...
The company has received numerous awards for the quality of its tools at exhibitions in European capitals.
In 1901, the small factory moved from Paris to Romilly-sur-Andelle in Eure (27). In 1910, it bought the Vergez brand, still at the time a small house located in Paris in the 11th arrondissement, and therefore changed its name to Vergez Blanchard.
Vergez Blanchard, an ancient technique
Each tool from Vergez Blanchard is made "à l'ancienne", in the greatest French tradition and will be a very good addition to your collection of tools for working and sewing leather by hand.
Working in specific and traditional workshops such as the forge, the foundry and the hardening workshop, Vergez Blanchard offers efficient tools of equally impeccable quality, with a very specific manufacturing technique through the meticulous choice of its raw materials such as steel, the know-how of its companions and the quality of the surface treatments.
