Description

SMOOTHING TOOLS FOR LEATHER

Used for years by leatherworkers, for smoothing and chiselling vegetable tanned leather. This beveled tempered glass smoother is ideal for preparing your leather.

Chasing: Slide the glass onto the grain side of the leather. This action will stretch the grain of the leather, thus providing better cuts. This action will also allow for better dye penetration.

Smoothing: Slide the glass onto the flesh side of the leather after having previously applied a product which will bond the fibers such as Hardener, Tokonole, etc. Apply pressure from front to back on the flesh side of your leather until until it becomes smooth.
