THREADING IRON FOR MARKING LEATHER
Leatherworker's threading iron n°_ 2 simple without handle - VERGEZ BLANCHARDSingle thread, thickness 1 mm.
Before using this tool, you will need to mount it on a new handle or salvaged from an old tool.
This tool allows you to make a simple net on the edge of your piece of leather (hot stamping technique).
Beforehand, you must heat your blade in a gas stove, this operation must be repeated regularly as the blade cools.
You have to use a metal ruler as a guide in order to make a straight line.
The appearance of the net on the leather depends on several parameters, such as the temperature of the tool, the type of leather, the speed at which the hot tool passes over the leather. It is recommended to adjust its settings on scraps of the same leather before doing it on its realization.
You can also use this tool to burn the fibers that protrude from the edge of the leather after cutting (smooth the edge).
This tool can also be used to re-heat the edge dye and thus make a hot finish.
This tool is ambidextrous: it is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people.
