Learn how to work the edges of mineral and vegetable tanned leather!
Working on the slices is often the last step but also the one that requires the most time and precision.
Date of your choice
Duration: 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Price: €60 which includes learning and loan of equipment .
Location: in the premises of our physical store in Campbon (44) located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire.
Beginner level: no prior technical knowledge is required. All techniques will be accessible to everyone except working on hot slices, with the electric threading iron, which will only be used by the trainer.
Hardware and leather are provided. Training not eligible for the CPF.
Our trainer, Anthony Hervy, is a leather craftsman and works with passion and respect for traditions. He will listen to you and can answer all your questions.
Program :
- Preparation of the slices: gluing and use of the blind.
- Sanding by hand with an abrasive sponge or a bench grinder.
- Application of a finish (paint) to the edge of vegetable and mineral tanned leather.
- Zoom on the bomber.
- Cold finish: glossy finish or beeswax.
- Then demonstration of a hot finish by the trainer.
- Working the edges of vegetable tanned leather with a finishing gum and a smoother: Tokonole, gum tragacanth and gum arabic.
At the end of the training you will have the opportunity to purchase equipment in our physical store.
Note : If you add the “paper catalog” (free) to your order in the basket, you will be asked for shipping costs. We advise you to wait until the day of the training to find out.
If the number of participants is insufficient, DECO CUIR reserves the right to cancel the training.
Any withdrawal reported at the latest three weeks before the course will not give rise to any refund unless another trainee takes up the place left available.
