This tool is made of solid brass , therefore indestructible and unbreakable. This tool is sometimes called a bone folder .
The flat screed has a pointed end and the other rounded. It has a thinned but non-cutting edge which is used to lightly trace the skin on the flesh side to facilitate trimming, to fold down the rim after gluing and raising, to push back the angles of the seams during assembly upside down, to avoid bubbles during gluing and to properly apply skin, fabric, paper in the sheathing....
