The glazed cabled linen thread is a high-end, very resistant thread. It is a natural thread that allows the creation of traditional and authentic products while offering an incomparable aesthetic appearance and very high strength.
Cabled yarn is a twist that is assembled a second time at several ends and then twisted "wet". This humidification ensures that the linen fibers are not altered. Cabling increases the resistance and gives a very round thread, generally used for luxury leather goods.
This linen thread is glazed, which means that it has been put through a starch bath to which beeswax has been added. It has then been brushed with horsehair and stretched. These operations give a smooth and strong thread that has rigidity, a good glide to facilitate sewing and hold.
