Arkansas stone is a natural stone. Any color variations, cracks or porous spaces are natural and do not affect the high sharpening quality of this stone.
To be used on a STROP (on sale in our shop). This wooden tool is made of grain side leather and split side leather.
The paste must be deposited on the previously oiled piece of leather (grain side) by rubbing the stick vigorously.
You must then pass the blade over the leather alternately front then back and respecting the edge of the cut to gradually sharpen the steel of the blade.
Deco Leather Advice:
- We advise you to do the first sharpening starting with water paper (600 grit to start and finish with 1000 grit)
- You can wipe your blade on leather on the flesh side to remove the remaining paste.
To use this stone correctly, it must first be soaked in special sharpening oil.
