Description
LEATHER SEWING CLAW PRICKING POINT - REVERSE STITCH
This precision " INVERSE " striking claw allows you to make, with a single strike of the mallet, several diagonal holes for a regular saddle stitch seam.
These pricking point claws allow you to mark the location of your stitches .
The " reverse " claw stitch is symmetrical to the "standard" stitch . This stitch is generally used for double-claw sewing or for connecting a creation that has been sewn with a professional sewing machine.
Sold individually, choose the claw that suits you, with 2 or 5 teeth, as well as the desired center distance.

Leather Deco Information :
- Claws with a "reverse" point are generally called "left-handed claws": this is a misnomer, there are no left-handed or right-handed claws. As a reminder: there is no direction to hold the claw, the point is the same on both sides.
- The higher the claw number, the closer the stitches will be and the tighter the seam.

What center distance should I choose for my creation ?
The center distance is the distance between two points: it should be chosen according to the item you wish to create (aesthetic choice).
The different center distance/wire diameter combinations give different aesthetic results: the choice is yours!
Table given for information purposes :
Leather item | Total thickness of the leather | Center distance | Wire diameter |
Short article (e.g. bookbinding, small leather goods) | Max. 2.5 mm | 2.5 to 3.38 mm | 0.30 to 0.53 mm |
Medium article (eg leather goods) | Max. 4 mm | 3.38 to 3.85 mm | 0.54 to 0.70 mm |
