Description
1-TOOTH STRIKING CLAW
Deco Cuir offers you this precision striking claw - 1 tooth, also called pricking . Striking claws are used to mark points on leather in order to have nice, even stitching .
With a mallet, you mark a hole in the leather to make your seams. You can also completely pass through thin leathers, but you must limit this use to soft leathers of 1.5 mm thickness maximum. Trying to pierce thicker leathers may damage the claws.
Ideal for leather goods - saddle stitch sewing.
Directions for use :
- Use a self-healing mat or an ERTALON plate as a cutting support.
- Your claw must be vertical when you strike.
- Strike with a wooden or polymer mallet. Do not use a steel hammer.
Impact claw 1 tooth 1.5mm wide.
Total tool length: 9.5 cm
Hardened steel blade.
Made in China for Deco Leather
The center distance is the distance between two points: it must be chosen according to the item you wish to create (aesthetic choice).
The different center distance / wire diameter combinations give different aesthetic results: the choice is yours!
