Description
ABRASIVE SHEETS FOR SANDING SLICES
These self-adhesive sandpaper sheets stick to a carbon plate (Ref: TB223 - Sold separately) . These small, high-quality sandpapers are ideal for easy and precise sanding of the edges of your leather.
Choose the grit that best suits the finish you want to achieve:
Grain | Recommended use |
180 | Scratch the leather to prepare it for the edge finish or finishing gum to adhere. |
280 | Rough out the preparation of the slices |
400 | Remove cutting marks |
600 | Perfect the sanding to remove the cutting marks |
800 | Intermediate sanding of the slice finish between coats |
1000 | Precise sanding of the edge finish between layers |
1200 | Ultra smooth finish |
1500 | Professional quality finish |
The above uses are given as an indication, they depend on the leather used. This is why there is a wide range of grains to allow you to choose the most suitable for your leather.
Directions for use :
- When using for the first time: peel off the protective paper from the sandpaper sheet and stick it on a carbon plate. To help you identify the grit of your sandpaper, stick the label indicating the grit number on the other side of the carbon plate (the labels are provided when purchasing the carbon plate - see the video).
- Use dry. The lower the grit number, the larger the grit and therefore the more abrasive it is. For best results, we recommend starting with a coarse grit, then gradually refining your work with a finer grit.
- When the sandpaper sheet is worn out, remove it from the carbon plate and stick a new one. The sticker leaves no trace of glue residue to keep a perfectly smooth surface on the carbon plate!
