Fiebing's - Choosing the right leather dye!

The American brand Fiebing's is a must in leather work and in particular for dyeing and embossing (Patinas and Pro resist). Fiebing's dyes are the best on the market, they penetrate deep into the leather and have a very good hold! Fiebing's offers oil, alcohol and water based stains. Fiebing's also offers maintenance creams and oils to maintain and protect your leather.

Fiebing's story:
John H. Fiebing founded Fiebing's Company in 1895 after working in the chemical department of a tannery in Milwaukee, USA. The Fiebing's logo, which represents a rider, comes from one of the first products of the brand manufactured: the glycerine soap ("Saddle Soap") for sale on our site. This glycerine soap from Fiebing's had become so popular that the US Cavalry at Fort Riley, Kansas, used this product exclusively to clean and preserve riding gear and other leather equipment. This led the company to choose this logo which is still today a symbol of the integrity of the brand and its quality.

The success of the Fiebing's brand:
In the 20th century, the horse being the main mode of transport in the United States, the market for care products in the middle of the cavalry and in particular saddles, was booming. Almost all working horses were equipped with leather harnesses and saddles and therefore regular maintenance was necessary. Fiebing's company took advantage of this from the start and became one of the largest manufacturers of leather dyes and finishes in the world.

Fiebing's, today:
Fiebing's company is proud to admit that their experience has steadily improved over the past 4 generations. It has thus developed new dyes for leather in oil or alcohol and also water-based that you will easily find on our site, but also creams and leather care oils. As its production activity is still based in its Milwaukee factories, the quality of their work is always a guarantee of satisfaction for their customers.
