The story of Vergez Blanchard
The Blanchard house was founded by Louis-René Blanchard in 1823, a professional cutler in Paris. After multiple takeovers and associations with other manufacturers, the small cutlery factory diversified its production while remaining close to leather from the second half of the 19th century: Saddlers, saddlers, leatherworkers, harness makers, bookbinders, tanners (by hand) , bootmakers, shoemakers (manual manufacturing), upholsterers and upholsterers...
The company has been rewarded numerous times for the quality of its tools at exhibitions in European capitals.
In 1901, the small factory moved from Paris to Romilly-sur-Andelle in Eure (27). In 1910, she bought the Vergez brand, at the time still a small house located in Paris in the 11th arrondissement, and therefore changed its name to Vergez Blanchard.
