WORKSHOP FOR MAKING A LEATHER TOTE BAG
Learn how to make a tote bag from split leather with an experienced seamstress.
Intermediate level : To participate in this training, you must have a good working knowledge of your sewing machine (domestic or semi-professional) . Please note: you will need to bring your own sewing machine on the day of the training. If you do not have a sewing machine, please contact us to inquire about machine rental options (€15 per person) .

Price: €125 which includes instruction and materials for making a tote bag.
Place : in the premises of our physical store in Campbon (44) located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique.
Duration: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Number of participants: maximum 4 people

Materials and tools provided by Deco Cuir:
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Cutter, rotary cutter, scissors...
- Sewing clips
- Rulers and set squares
- 1 full-size pattern
- 1 spool of No. 30 polyester thread
- 1 piece of split leather (Several colors to choose from: taupe and chocolate brown).
- 1 x 14cm metal zipper
- 1 pair of leather bag handles
- 8 double-cap T3 rivets and the setting tool/set
Bag dimensions: Height: 36 cm - Length: 35 cm - Width: 14.5 cm
The program includes: Pattern making, cutting and assembling the tote bag using a sewing machine.
What you will need to bring:
- Your lunch: a refrigerator and a microwave will be available (as well as a dining area).
- A fabric lining: cotton is recommended. To choose your lining, refer to the two bag colors shown in the images: taupe, chocolate brown, or anthracite gray. Lining dimensions : 140 or 120 cm wide x 90 cm deep.
- Your sewing machine: we recommend testing beforehand on scraps of leather to see how your machine reacts. Feel free to consult our blog article on "How to sew leather by machine?" => Click on the "Learn more" button below the description. You cannot sew leather with a basic, entry-level domestic machine (e.g., Silvercrest) .
Next, you need to equip yourself with a minimum of a Teflon presser foot (ref. CA149) and machine needles for leather no. 100/110 (available on our website - ref. ).
During the training, Deco Cuir will not be held responsible for the "non-functioning" of the machine or any damage.
Our instructor, Lucie, is a professional seamstress with experience working for a subcontractor of a major leather goods brand. Now a designer of textiles and fashion accessories in fabric and leather, she will give you all the advice you need for sewing leather with a good home sewing machine and will answer all your questions.
Our shop remains accessible during the training.

If the number of participants is insufficient, DECO CUIR reserves the right to cancel the training.
Any cancellation reported no later than three weeks before the course will not give rise to any refund unless another trainee takes the place left available.
